Celebrating the Beauty of Thai Tradition on Loy Krathong Day 2025

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Assumption College English Program (ACEP) organized a “Loy Krathong Day” activity to preserve and celebrate one of Thailand’s most beautiful cultural traditions, while nurturing a sense of pride in Thai heritage among our young learners.

During the event, students participated in a Thai culture quiz to learn about the origin and significance of Loy Krathong, a festival rooted in the ancient tradition of expressing gratitude and seeking forgiveness from the Goddess of the River (Phra Mae Khongkha).

They also explored the modern meaning of the festival — a time to let go of negativity and welcome new beginnings with a joyful heart.

After the learning activities, students enjoyed floating their krathongs together in a warm and joyful atmosphere filled with smiles, laughter, and a sense of pride in being part of Thai culture.

ACEP hopes that this activity will not only be a festive celebration but also a meaningful way to pass on the value of Thai culture to our students for generations to come.
