Year 10 and 11 summer school students have been studying the anatomy of the human heart with their Biology teacher Mr. Conor.

First they learned about the major arteries and veins that flow in and out of the heart connecting it to all the different parts of the body where it has the vital role of pumping oxygen rich blood and nutrients to every cell in the body. Then they learned to draw the heart including its 4 major chambers and how they connect to the arteries and veins to make up the cardio vascular system.

Today they dissected a real heart and were tasked with finding, photographing and labeling all the different parts of the heart that they studied. All the students excelled and I can safely say that Assumption College has several future heart surgeons in the making!
