ACEP Halloween Activity: Learning the Meaning Behind the Celebration

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, the Student Affairs Department organised the activity “Happy Halloween & Learn the Story Behind.”

The event aimed to help students understand the origin and cultural meaning of Halloween, a tradition that dates back over 2,000 years to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.

Students learned that Halloween began as a time when people believed the spirits of the dead returned to visit the living on the last night of October. To protect themselves, they lit bonfires and wore costumes — a custom that eventually evolved into today’s joyful celebration filled with fun, sharing, and creativity.

In addition to cultural learning, students enjoyed interactive English activities such as Halloween Quizzes and Costume Talks, designed to strengthen their communication skills and confidence in a festive atmosphere.

Through this activity, ACEP encourages students to appreciate global traditions, embrace cultural diversity, and learn with curiosity and joy.
